Arizona is perfect this time of year. You'll love it.
Here is my ideal trip from Phoenix.
There are several places to go -- and here is my ideal itinerary.
Day One -- go north about a two hour drive to Sedona Arizona. It is the most beautifyul place in the world. The Red Rocks are astonishing. Be sure to search out Enchantment resort and at least have lunch or a sandwich there. It sets back in the Red Rocks of Boynton Canyon and has spectacular views. Eat dinner of a great steak at the Cowboy Club in Sedona. The Pink Jeep tour is fun too.
Day Two -- the south rim of the Grand Canyon is a good five hour trip north of Phoenix. If you've never seen the GC you must see it. If there is some way you can weave around the trip to Sedona, that really breaks up the trip a bunch. That way you can go to Sedona one day and then go on up to the GC the next.
Day Three -- now go south to Tucson and Nogales, Mexico. This is a completely different experience than Sedona. The cactus are amazingly high. Nogales is a real trip. There is alot to do in Tucson too -- from gambling, to siteseeing at Old Phoenix where several movies have been shot.
Day Four -- explore Phoneix. I am not as big of a fan of Phoenix -- since it is like a big town in a desert. There are great restaurants and shopping in Phoenix. There are sports too -- with spring training baseball all around Phoenix in the spring.
There are some fabulous hotels/resorts in phoenix and I like to explore those and the amenities they offer -- such as the pool and the spa and exercise rooms. Just relaxing by the pool is very cool to do when you know it is cold "back home".
I'm envious. My wife and I love Arizona.
Good luck with your trip.
Hope this was helpful.

Kayenta, Arizona from there its only 22 miles to Monument Valley where a lot of John Wayne westerns were shown, where Forrest Gump also ran. From there you can also see the four corners where AZ, UT, NM and CO meet. an hour from Glen Canyon Dam, Canyon De Chelly and Grand Canyon.

Stay in Sedona, Arizona ... but take day trips to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff to see the Lowell Observatory, stand on the corner of Winslow, Arizona (lol) .. see the Petrified Forest... there is soooo much to see and do there. Make sure you visit some of the Native Indian ruins.... Montezuma's castle, Montezuma's well, Toozigoot outside of Jerome!! Oh, and I forgot!! take the drive to see the Meteor site.. it's huge.
