My friends talked me into getting one. What is your opionion on the whold myspace thing?

I think it is a fine thing when used properly. I also think it is getting a bad rap in the media which is painting myspace as predator central. My family uses myspace as a way to post family photos for the family to see.

News Magazine shows like to tell you that is's horrible and dangerous but there is nothing wrong with Myspace. Don't give out where you live or put your cell phone number on your page. Don't put info on there that you wouldn't give to a complete stranger. If it makes you feel even better, make your whole page friends only so that outside people can't look at your info without requesting you as a friend first. There are a lot of things you can do to protect yourself from unwanted attention while still messaging, telling people what's going on, sharing pictures, and answering stupid surveys with your friends. It's also good for sharing information or advertising about events going on that you'd like people to know about. I'm starting up a jewelry making company and I'm going to be posting a bulletin with my website address and maybe some pictures about what I'm selling. It's a great networking tool. Have fun with it :-)

It's fun at first, because you run into people you haven't seen in ages, but there are mean people who like to use it to slander others, cause drama, etc. My opinion? Take it like a grain of salt. Myspace is just a website, if you look to far into things on there, it may do more damage then good. I strictly use it for communication and to check up on friends.

it's so frustrating ...
