In NJ it's technically 14 but a lot of employers won't hire you until your 16 because of the restrictions that are placed on people under 16.

Usually places wait until you're 16. But I've seen places like McDonald's and local drug stores hire 15 year olds.

It depends on where you live. Some states/provinces let you start at 12 depending on what type of job it is. Check with your local employment office.

Most states are 16, if your younger you need a workers permit (atleast here in IL), however most places won't hire you even with that, except McDonalds. Unless your working for cash as a waitress maybe.
