Keep in mind this particular event you speak of is very unlikely. You cannot predict the course of a comet over 200 years to the accuracy of our planet. Not even using the magical box you are reading this post on.

A comet will hit us in the future, it is a mathematical certainty. If we can do something about it, we probably will.

It is possible for a comet to hit earth, but there is no reason to suppose that any particular comet is on its way here anytime soon. Should such a reason arise in the future, presumably people will deal with it; until then, it is properly off the bottom of peoples' priority lists.

There's an asteroid that may hit Earth in 2036. I'd worry about that one first.
