what is the closing price of a stock ? can you give me an example.

The price the stock is at the end of the day.
Example
Opening price (begining of the day) for BAC on 11/2/2006 was 53.36
Closing price (end of the day) for BAC on 11/2/2006 was 53.55
A 19 cent increase, or .35%

The closing price of a stock is what the stock was worth at the time the stock market closed that day. For the NYSE, that's 4 pm.
