Personally (and this is a biased opinion) I'd rather take a date to see Saw III - but only because it'd be so bloody and horrifying that she'd be jumping into my lap every time someone bleeds (if she's the easily scared type) or because she enjoys horror movies (the slightly deranged type - also a personal favorite).

To answer the first part of your question, unfortunatly it's just not worth spending $20 just to see a movie anymore. I remember being APPALLED when the ticket price went up to $7 a ticket!! LOLOL!! Sounds like I'm an old fogey, but I'm only 30. . .
If it were me, though, I'd see the Prestige. Enjoy your movie!

i HATE going to the theater because no one else in the theater knows how to shut off their cell phones or just shut the h e l l up while i'm watching the movie. i am NOT paying that much for a ticket and pop corn to listen to everyone talk during the movie. just my opinion

Actually both seem pretty good to see. Sorry if I hadn't seen them but wanted to offer the idea to just flip a coin. Leave it up to fate.

The only movie I have bothered to venture out to in recent months was The Departed. It was EXCELLENT! I highly recommend it.
