It depends on how formal the wedding is, I guess. Some weddings require evening wear, even! However, you should always get a little dressed up for a wedding, and I really think you might feel out of place if you show up in capris or Bermuda shorts. How about a nice skirt and top? It's not as dressy as a dress, but you won't look out of place.

I would dress very formal. It would be best to wear a dress and heels. However if you wear slacks they should be dress slacks and a dress shirt. I do not think capris or shorts are ever dressy so my answer is dressy pants like down to the ankle.

I'd dress up regardless of what she said. I wouldn't go informally. If you dress formally, or atleast a skirt as opposed to bermuda shorts or capris, you are showing her that you atleast cared enough about the wedding.

Frankly, I'd rather be over dressed than under dressed. Bring the other outfit in the car, if everyone is in capris/shorts then change.

No shorts. No capris. You don't have to wear a formal gown, but dress somewhere between formal and casual. Unless it's a beach wedding, everyone will be dressed up a little with lots of suits and ties and nice, but not formal, dresses. Look nice. It's a special day for the bride and groom and their families.

I'm sure you should have a pretty, formal outfit to wear to someone's wedding. Capris and shorts are nowhere on earth considered befitting a solemn ocassion such as a wedding.I'm sure you already know that this would be not only inappropriate, but deeply hurtful to the bride to come in and treat her wedding as a chance to mock her and her family

Extend her the courtesy of dressing your best,as she extended you the courtesy of inviting you to share in her special day

Please don't be obnoxious, borrow something if you must, but remember - someday it will be your turn.We somehow always recall not only who was at our own wedding but even exactly what was worn.Would you want to be a bad memory....?

Good luck as you get all lovely tomorrow!Catch the bouquet!!! ;->

To me, yes you could. You're not family and you're not close to the bride anywayz. I don't see why everybody has to wear a dress to a wedding. Of course, it all depends on the styling...I hope you know how to mix and match...if you do, I'm sure you'll look lovely in your bermudas, heels and dressy top.

I would say if your not wearing a dress or skirt then i would go for dress pants not capris or shorts, they are not the proper look for a wedding. Just my personal opinion.

dont need to wear a dress... don't over do the fashion... u dont want to show up the bride! i would wear a polo with a lace cami underneath, with bermudas, and some cute HEELS heels dress up the outfit, without being the bride
