I'm totally with you!!!!!!!!!! Everytime i go pass that channel they are playing that stupid show - the Yo Momma show with the 70s dude name Wilmer something. How high can his IQ be to do this show, he was awesome in the 70s show, but this new show he has out is stupid. I think he is trying to be like Ashton with his reality show, but it is not working. I hate that show. And if they are not showing that it's some other stupid reality show or some rap video. Back in the day, they use to actually play rock on MTV!

MTV was born a day after me. Every channel that is devoted to music eventually finds that what people are interested in fluctuates so much that the channel loses sight of what they originally started out with. The programmers try to follow what 16 year olds are interested in and music ended up being taken out.

Because they don't show music videos all the time like they used to. I have about 5 or 6 VCR tapes that are each 6 hours of videos
from MTV, VH-1, TBS, USA & some local music video shows.
Remember "Night Tracks"

It's called "supply and demand". Very first rule of economics out there.
Of course MTV's main market is teenage girls, who couldn't guess that? Since teenage girls are their main market whatever they want MTV will give them. In a way you could compare MTV to a very spoiling father who gives their daughter anything she wants, including that $200,000 Porsche. OH wait, that's "My Super Sweet 16" isn't it? Hmmmm...
I've also noticed that songwriting these days in poular music is down. That's because teenage girls are looking for the most basic sound out there they can, the songs also have the simplest scales to them or have references to sex, drugs or alcohol. Monkey see, monkey do.
It's really not MTV's fault for all the junk on there, it's the girls' fault for asking for it. Just let your girlfriend listen to a Carlos Santana CD of yours and the world will be just a little bit of a better place.

It sure does! I remember Headbangers Ball, 120 Minutes, Countdown, yada yada. . .it'd be great if they had 'shows' like that, . . .like a 90's alternative hour, 80's hairband hour, pop music hour, blah blah blah. I remember watching MTV all the time, and VH1 was the 'sucky' channel. Now it's quite the opposite.

becauce the mtv producers are running out of idea of what new programmes to create.all they ever do is create some dumb shows which is so stupid that your IQ will drop a few points after you finish watching it.i suppose they think it will appeal to their target audience.the teens and the tweens.

mtv has learned there is a huge audience in all those people that thought beavis and butthead were role models. you know the white kids that think they have street cred and can walk through the ghetto and not get mugged because they are just cool like that. i did kind of like trailer fabulous.
