i have a three month old and since she was born she slept through the night, but not only slept through the night she slept all day to, and the best thing i can tell you, which i also have a 6 year old and he woke up every two hours when he was a baby, but babys need the sleep becuase they are growing at a fast rate, about 1/2 oz a day, so when your baby sleeps alot its ok, take advantage of it, if your baby is not sleeping alot try changing things around like, times she eats or places where you put her down, or turn on the tv and radio, or if she is a baby that wants total silence try taking a nap or something quite when she is laying down

Lots. It seems that they never wake up when they are a newborn. I always recommend the book "Healthy Sleep Habbits, Happy Child" to anyone with a new baby. It has information that you will need throughout your child's life, even into teen years. I'm not sure of the author right now, but you can find it on Amazon. Check out the other reviews too.

it depends upon the baby. my nephew slept hardly at all as an infant-- maybe 10 hours a day. his baby brother sleeps probably 18 hours a day.

there isn't any good answer to your question as all babies are different.
