I think something impressive. Look at the difference in peoples attitudes to the war. We supported the soldiers and hold WW1 and WW2 with great respect but all we've done is criticise the war in Iraq. I don't people like to support our country anymore. Society has changed and I doubt we'll ever feel that patrionism again because with a troubled youth, unemployment, increased crime - poeple are finding it more difficult to find things to praise.

It would take the government to stop beating up on the British people, to stop the european interferance, the UK economy is not intact enough for the explosion and expansion of the EEC. Countries that are not morally ready to join europe are draining the rest of us dry. This is the best country in the world, but not for long if it is eroded any longer. Moral is the important word that makes the UK great, we are not a country that sells our kidneys to make end meet. Our moral standards are high but have been erroded until one day we will become the third world country that we are now attempting to pull up to our standards. Stability is not there.

this is a stupid question. I dont know anyone who lives here who hates the US. I am proud to be an American, proud of this country where you can say whatever you want without fear of reprisal. Proud of my immigrant grandparents who came here for a better life and found it by hard work. It is frightening to see this country moving toward fascism, I think a middle road would be better, because we all dont agree on everything and that is a good thing. I also have my doubts about the Patriot Act, but all in all I love this country and wouldnt want to live anywhere else.

Education through living in another country. A country where the rights of the human population are truly not honored. Few people seem to understand that the very complaining they do would get them imprisoned or shot in many places in the world. No one would care except their immediate family. They would do nothing because they know they also would disappear.

Why do you think Americans are not proud to be American? I'm very proud to be American...I'm just ashamed of our current administration who I believe is ruining this country and undermining the very freedoms that make this country great. There is nothing more "American" than having the freedom to express your disagreement with your government. In other countries, you can get locked up for that. I think this country will prove just how proudly "American" they are when they vote next Tuesday and get rid of all of Bush's croonies in Congress!

Unfortunately, I don't know that it is possible...Don't get me wrong, I am proud of my country, but I think we are all thrown so many disappointing stories each day by the media that no one has any true idea of how great and fearless our leaders are and how proud we should be of our country.
It is truly sad....

Nothing. I think most of us are proud. And one of the reasons we are is that we can go on about how terrible it is and not worry about being killed for it.
