No one should tell you that your dreams are stupid or pointless. They are your dreams, therefore they are always worth paying attention to and nurturing.
That said, some people just don't have talent. And whether or not you do is something you're just going to have to find out yourself, through experience and good sense.
But if you do, then work for it. Get as much experience as possible, talk to as many people as possible, read plays like crazy (helpful when in need of audition material), take classes and lessons (but don't get ripped off) and start looking into schools now so that you can be fully prepared when the time comes.
Get a job, get money, experience the world and DON'T become a drama queen. Be whoever you want to be onstage, but remember that offstage you still have to be you. And you should be kind and considerate of other people. Don't step on other people, always keep in touch, stay connected, get a reputation for patience, kindness, responsiblity and a high work quality and ethic.
You cannot do anything without the support and help of someone (and preferably more than one someone), but most importantly, you cannot do anything without focus, motivation and an intense desire to succeed.
Don't be afraid of no's, don't be afraid of failure and don't be afraid to go wherever you need to go (whether it's moving to a new city or delving deep into yourself) to get the job done.
Have values, have morals, have fun, but be you.
And remember, fame is not nearly as important as success. A successful actor or singer is one who always has work and is able to support herself with her career.
I hope you like the rush.

You can do it, but it takes work and a good manager to become famous. The first step to being famous is to start doing the activities that you want to be famous in. Audition and perform in shows, get singing gigs around town, etc. All of this can be done while working at a proper job, but you have to start. So, pursue your dreams, do everything that needs to be done to get the acting and singing jobs that you want and go for it.

If you have not already started taking acting classes, you must ask your parents to find an acting school or acting teacher for you. When you have studied acting for several years, you can audition for roles.
Your parents can contact the Community Colleges and University (theater department) to get referrals of local acting schools/teachers. The odds are not good for one to become a famoust performer, as most of us in the industry, make very little money in show biz! When you go to college major in theater and get a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theater, after you get that, go to a University and get an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in theater. An MFA will put you ahead of other wannabe performers.

my dream is to be on stage and my god im gonna get there! be determined but be realistic-there are other people out there too! However, stick by your dream even though people tell you it's ridiculous-my mum doesn't want me to act and wants me to get a proper job. Im at 6th form at the mo but im doing panto and plays and stuff. My advice to you is to get into a drama school (if you arent alreayd of course!). Most of all, be determined and confident in yourself! Don't let anyone to tell you what to do-follow YOUR heart-it's your life after all! Good luck!

I dont think it is stupid.
It is wonderful to have dreams like that, and want to go into that field ^_^
Go to a theatre school or schooling for the dramatic arts and have a back up plan if you dont make it into the career.
Want it, and try for it. Thats the only thing you can do =]

If you really want to be famous, and you want talent agencies and what not to call you or contact you then I have just the site! It worked for me so far. Go to Starsearchcasting.com, Miley Cyrus has one on that site, and she had a pro on that site before she got the role of Hannah Montana!

You should never give up on a dream. However, you do need to be realistic. You shouldn't starve to death or lose your home while trying to make your dream come true. You have to live in the meantime and pay your bills, etc.
