My first laptop was a refurbished Compaq Presario 1505US and to begin with I had a lot of trouble; the retailer had installed incorrect memory modules and the hard drive was faulty. Since these problems have been fixed, the laptop has worked well; it's an old machine with poor graphics and slow memory but it is solidly built and reliable. Even though I have other laptops, I still regularly use the Compaq - the sound is impressive even if the TFT display is lacklustre. Compaqs do come with a ton of preloaded software that if allowed to run on start up can significantly slow down the system. Now a part of HP, they don't have the same appeal they once did...

HP and Compaq are approximately as sturdy as any baby-kisser interior the U. S. - no longer very. I relatively have a number of friends with HP and Compaq laptops that have experienced fan mess ups, no longer easychronic mess ups, and opticalchronic mess ups. If I have been to get a computing device computing device, i might get an Acer, Lenovo, or Toshiba. because of the fact that i'm a Mac individual, i'm going to tell people to get an Apple - in terms of reliability, they're fantastically plenty the precise-rated sort. If money isn't any merchandise, i might get a Panasonic ToughBook - i've got considered one get run over by skill of an 18 wheeler at street speeds and proceed to exist with basically elegance injury. (BTW VAIO fan, in case you % to spend completely too plenty on Sony's rendition of all and sundry else's computing device, this is your prerogative; i could no longer propose a Sony to every person, until this is a PS2.)

they are equally reliable as any others. Most laptop places like dell, hp/compaq, etc. use similiar parts (intel motherboards, Maxtor hard drives, Intel wireless, etc.) so all you are buying is a case and the support.
