As a former smoker, nurse, and former restaurant owner, NO. That should be the right of the business owner.
Our county has a county-wide ban on smoking in restaurants (not bars) and of course in public places.
I like going into a restaurant and not smelling like smoke or having to breath second hand smoke. But I had that choice before the ban too by eating at restaurants which were non-smoking. Smokers can't smoke inside buildings, but they huddle together at the door and I have to walk through the cloud of smoke to get inside which I wouldn't have been exposed to before the county-wide smoking ban.
So NO. That choice should be the business owner's choice and the consumer's choice to vote with their feet.

This is a real touchy one. Part of me says yes because the waiters and waitresses are forced to work in smoke, but at the same time, they don't have to work there if they do not want to. I think that smoking should be allowed in restaurants, but I also think that there should be better partitions between smoking and non - rather than just an invisible line. It is not fair for non-smokers to have to smell smoke and it is not fair for smokers to be banned from all eating establishments.
Above and beyond restaurants, what do some of you think about certain counties banning smoking on the streets, private property, etc.?

I smoke and I have no problem with banning smoking in restaurants. I do not think they should ban smoking in bars.
