OK, here's a bit of random trivia. I used to live very near where parts of this movie were filmed (suburban Chicago). Toward the beginning of the movie on the way to their first gig there is a scene where the band's car exits a highway. In the background you can see a hotel with a blue "Roadway Inn" sign. The name has changed since but that is the hotel where OJ Simpson stayed after flying to Chicago the night he killed his wife and Ron Goldman.

What do you want to know? Most of the band is from the original SNL band. All the musical scenes are by either the bluses brothers or famous R&B and blues artists. Most of the rest of the cast are from SNL or from Second city.
