River Cruses?

Question

A long time ago there was a company that did cruses up and down the Missippi River. They had a really nice hotel that was built on a barge. I forgot their name, does anyone know what I'm talking about? It looked like a fun thing to do, so I figured I would do some research.

I wonder if they went out of business...

My Aunt took me on a river boat cruise and I believe it went up the Mississippi River. The River boat cruise was the Delta Queen and then there was the American Queen, there might also be a Mississippi Queen. I was the only young person on the boat, but I had a great time with the crew...since they were my age.

There is also a Delta King somewhere that is a hotel and only a hotel. They use the motor parts from this to repair the Delta Queen if she has any problems. I saw some long movie about this when I was on the boat. Both of these were painted gray and used in world war 2. Then some dude bought them back and rebuilt them into River Boats. I really enjoyed that trip.

Either Dixie cruises or Mississippi River Cruises. They had two ships I believe. It could have been Delta River Cruises also.

There was, maybe still is, a riverboat cruiseline in Memphis. It was pretty fun.
