i heard it in the 90's and it´s like stuck in my head and the chorus goes something like this "i am the one and only..." it sounded like bon jovi but it wasn´t bon jovi. i'm desperate 2 know.

Could well be the UK one-hit-wonder Chesney Hawkes with the song of that very name, and it came out in 1991 I believe. More recently, it's become a bit of a comedy song that often gets ironically played at parties and nightclubs.
