A year or two ago I was in Costco and saw the electronic/night light/ bug killers. We bought
them on a lark ( I hate spraying pesticides everywhere). I think they were about $25.00 for 5 of them, and we have been using them every since. They have done quite a good job.
We occasionally will see a bug, but almost none. I will say this year we started having our yard and landscaping sprayed every two months. You know, fertilizer, bug control, etc.
That has been very beneficial also.
I will say we live in Florida and we have roaches that can carry a donut. So we are thrilled to have none.

go to the $ dollar store and get some of that white powder and put it down around the edges of each room ,if you have little ones or pets besides the roaches it may not be a good idea ,the powder is poison, also put powder out side the entrance way

Use this.... it's an ultrasonic pest repeller available at Lowes.

I bought these because I had problems with mice. I found rat dropping in various places in my back porch. I was doubtful they actually work but I WAS AMAZED!!! The rat poop was gone within a day and I haven't seen any since. The package says it works for cockroaches too and it's safe for children and pets! Plus it's pretty cheap. According to the package insert, it could drive all the cochroaches from your apartment ant the neighbors too!
Let me know if this works. I'm curious if it actually works for cockroaches too.

Use boric acid. Make sure you put it around *every* common wall, vent, etc. I have the same problem once before and the little buggers were coming through the exhaust fan in my kitchen - apparently I shared a common exhaust duct with the dirty people next door

go to the hardware store and get your self some Boric acid,
It come in a powder form.
Spread it along the walls and the door ways, that should keep them out.
Because of the powder it will not dissapate if not disturbed
