YES!!! But they don't call it "post-partum". It's just hormones or regular depression. There are a million things that could be causing it.

YES! You absolutely can. It happens to many women but they just don't talk about it. Everyone thinks you should feel elated your entire pregnancy when in fact a large number of women get depression. Call our doctor. They can prescribe antidepressants that are fine to take while pregnant. Don't suffer, your baby suffers if you suffer. For you and your entire family you deserve to feel better.

I just read an article on this today! If you are feeling depressed now, it could lead to post-partum depression -- there's a higher chance. You should have a good support system (support from friends and family -- people who you can talk to and vent to) and talk to your doctor about any of these concerns as well.
I think you need to talk to your doctor... seriously.
Good luck.

Yes you can have depression before the baby is born only it's not postpartum it is prenatal depression. I had it with my son and am starting to show signs of it again. It is good that you recognie that something is wrong.....you should tell your obgyn and he/she can help you. Good luck

No it relatively is not. regardless of if this is a threat which you're experiencing common melancholy...extraordinarily with each and every of the hormones changing on your physique. i replaced into very depressed in the time of my final being pregnant and that they provided to place me on drugs. So this is risk-free. regardless of if, I opted to attend until eventually after the toddler replaced into born to initiate the drugs. you would be experiencing many thoughts by using out the being pregnant. you will relatively have a million recommendations dealing with your recommendations as you think of roughly what your destiny holds, looking after somewhat one, the variations on your existence and such. this is complicated on every person melancholy or no longer. the only suggestion i grants you is which you're making it to all your OB appointments and ensure your wellness care professional is familiar with the form you experience. attempt to think of with reference to the postive issues which would be occurring. Having a toddler is an indescribable outstanding adventure. you have some moments coming to you stuffed with love and exhilaration. sturdy success.

If your depression is prolonged talk to your OB/GYN. They may be able to prescribe something for you. I was put on Zoloft after losing my baby girl at 21 weeks and was told that when I got pregnant again I could continue to take it if I needed it.
