sin beta = 12/13 , 90° < beta < 180°

tan beta = 3/4 , sin beta < 0

i don't understand the question, am i solving for beta and if so, how? thanks for the help.

90° < beta < 180° means 2nd quadrant.
sin beta = 12/13
beta=arcsine(12/13)=67.38° in the 1st quadrant
or 180°-67.38°=112.62° in the 2nd.

tan beta = 3/4 , sin beta < 0
sin beta<0 means 3rd or 4th quadrant.
tan beta>0 means 1st or 3rs quadrant so we are in the 3rd quadrant.
beta=arctan 3/4=36.87° in the 1st quadrant. or
36.87°+180°=216.87° in the 3rd.

That's a little unclear, but it does look like you're being asked to solve for beta. It's not a "basic" angle (30°, 45°, etc.) so you'll need to use the inverse trig functions on your calculator and recall in which quadrants the various functions are positive and negative.
