1 that was 9-11..by islamic terrorists
We could class the FBI building also..but it was done by american fanatic.

My point is simple:
13 years occured from one attempt to the other.
Are we any safer today? if so, prove it.

Has our tax dollars gone to more technology to better detect and classify a terrorist attack?

i can not grip the fact that we are any safer because of airport security or border control, and anything else we attempt.
These terrorists have all the time in the world. is that not clearly evident in the 13 year span between tower attacks.

Why should we have to give up civil rights and lose alittle freedom to gain nothing? I want to know one other thing also.

Were is the proof that all of this is working? 630 billion in borrowed money seems alot to know one thing..we are not any better off.

I couldn't agree more. Assuming you have time-lined the Cole the WTC bombing in 2/26/93 the embassies etc.

That fact is crime is out of control in this country. The Midwest is experiencing a massive surge in violent crime (St Louis MO named most violent city). How much safer would we REALLY be had we used a portion of the $330 Billion on domestic law enforcement?

The GOP is selling us an illusion of security in the meantime we are rotting from within.

On Americans or American soil? I assume you mean American soil.

The answer is five.

1. The World Trade Center in 1993.
2. The Federal Building in 1995 (it housed more than just local FBI offices, and yes it was done by an American)
3. The two US Embassies in Africa in 1998. (What few people realize is that US Embassies are sovereign US soil)
4. The USS Cole was attacked in 2000. (All US warships are US territory)
5. The World Trade Center in 2001.

So, let's see more than five year has elapsed since the World Trade Center attack in 2001, and we have not had anymore terrorist attacks on US soil. During the eight year period from 1993 - 2001 there were five attacks, averaging about one every one and a half years, or averaging one every two years if you exclude the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

So, to answer your question, yes I feel safer.
