i've never seen a scarecrow in real life

Oh that's so sad, you should come to the one we have in a little village about 2 miles from us, they have a huge scarecrow festival every September, you should see some of them, amazing they are, scarecrows galore, they get put in the farmers fields during the winter months to scare away the crows, its good fun, maybe all the scarecrows like living up here.

'Scarecrows were officially declared extinct in The United Kingdom in 1993, after a Government directive had succeeded in culling all of the creatures, thought to be around 900,000 at the peak of their population.
Scarecrows were officially re-classified in 1983 from friendly farm yard figures providing children with entertainment and adventures, to disease spreading vermin.
The majority of Scarecrows destroyed in the cull were burned to death in official 're-education camps', although a substantial proportion were shot or poisoned.
The only members of the scarecrow community who were permitted to escape the cull were those on the civil list, such as Prince Edward, who's head is famously made of a turnip.'

no need for them now gas guns are more frightening, but like the scarecrows the birds get very used to them.
