I'm doing my English coursework, and for it I've decided to do a leaflet from a reformed teen drinker/ drug user, of questions and answers about why, how, or anything else that you would like to know.

Please could you post your questions, so that i have an idea about what real parents want to know?

Thanks,
Franakin.

What signs should parents look for that their child may be using drugs/alcohol?

At what age did you have your first drink?
Was it beer or some type of liquor?

At what age did you first try drugs?
What drug was it?
Did it lead to trying more drugs?
If so, what drugs?

What made you decide to try your first drink/drug?
Peer pressure, problems at home, problems at school, etc.

How did you get your alcohol and drugs?

What made you decide to stop using?

I'm a parent of 3 boys ages 12, 9 & 3. How about these questions to start....

1.) Why did you start drinking/doing drugs?
2.) what do you think would have stopped you from using?
3.) How and at what age, were you first introduced to drug/alcohol use
4.) Why did you stop using?
5.) what methods/resources did you use to hide the fact you were using?
6.) what should parents look for in their child that might tip them off to illegal drug/alcohol use?

When you were raised to know that drugs are dangerous, addicting, expensive and often lethal, why would you even start doing drugs in the first place?

How did you feel after the first time you had a drink? Good? More mature? Vulnerable?

I hope that works for you. I hated school, but that actually sounds like a very interesting assignment.
