Got a good friend who worked for several years at Consumer Credit Counseling, and they can probably help you. Go to:
www.debtadvice.org/index.html
and use their "search" option to find a location close to you.
They're a non-profit organization, so they won't charge you any fees to use their services.
Good luck...

Best thing to do is stay in contact with the creditors. You can send a little money each week or month but as long as you keep the communication going and at least make a small effort - they will work with you. Also, depending on how long you have owed the money, you can negotiate with the creditors to take a percentage of the amount instead of the entire total.

If you claim bankruptcy you will have no credit for the next 7 years, but you will still have to pay some of it back and you will have to report every penny you spend (yes even a 5cent candy) to the agent that will be taking care of your bankruptcy. I know this because i had a friend who claimed.

First stop spending!

Second sell anythign you can live without, get as much money as you can to take care of your debts.

Make sure you talk to these people that are calling you and let them know what kind of situation you are in, sometimes they will lower your payments for you or even your intrest.

I don t know where you live but when I need to make some quick fast cash I sell roses in clubs. I just buy the roses from the grocery, get the water caps for the end, but them in a bucket and sell. It depends on where you live though. I can make 500 a night where I live and you have to ask everyone to buy a rose. Talk to the clubs before to make sure they will let you know.

If you have any questions let me know. Because if you want to make extra cash selling roses for yourself I can tell you what I do just msg me.

Take care.

In California a creditor cannot harass you. If you tell them to stop calling, they have to stop calling. The next thing you hear from them will probably be the subpeona to get you into court. But at least you don't have to suffer their badgering.

Check your state for similar rules then follow the other advice on how to get out of debt.

Do you know if you speak to them and tell them you predicament and offer to pay a small amount each month they will stop calling you. As soon as you do you will feel a huge burden lift from you, you will loose the constant stress immediately. I Suggest you sit down and work a smart budget to manage your bills and then call them. You may need to go without a few things you like until you get on top of your bills, but whats worse?...Terry...........Good luck

Is this secured debt (mortgage, car payment, etc?) or unsecured debt (credit cards)? If it's secured, you need to make those payments!

For unsecured debt, you have a lot of wiggle room with creditors. They will usually offer you a hardship payment plan after 60-90 days of non-payment. They waive late fees and overlimit fees, lower interest rates and lower monthly payments.
