The term Two Spirit refers to another gender role believed to be common among most, if not all, first peoples of Turtle Island (North America), one that had a proper and accepted place within indigenous societies. This acceptance was rooted in the spiritual teachings that say all life is sacred and that the Creator must have a reason for making someone different. This gender role was not based in the sacredness that comes from being different. This definition is not meant to replace cultural and traditional teachings, which speak to this role. It is intended to find common ground and to help educate in a contemporary context.

Two Spirit Societies have formed to confront issues of homophobia, racism, and oppression from the Native American community, the non-Native communities, and the GLBT community.

Two Sprit people have a strong history, with many traditions and beliefs that focus on the freedom of religion, the right to practice traditional ceremonies, and the strength to overcome stereotypes and myths that are restraining our place within the sacred circle.

The American Indians love two spirited people. Commonly known as gay and lesbians. Why do Christian hate us so, and think thier teaching are the only ones that matter here and around the world. We live on this planet together. I live not in sin. I am an American, American Indian, A Gay Man, and a Two Spirited Man.

Unfortunatley Christians are probably the sickest bunch out there, them and most other religions. If their sick enough to think that God merely put all nature and animals here for them to do what they want with, then who knows what other garbage they may believe. I believe in God but I do not believe in Religion. If I had to pick one it would be one that respects nature more than man because man is nature (just with a derranged ego!) Christians want to convert people and tell them they are sinners because they are afraid. They are afraid of the truth.
Here is the truth,
NOT ONE RELIGION CAN TAKE CREDIT FOR THE AFTERLIFE! (if there is one) I had a very religious christian friend in tears telling me I need to convert or I'll go to hell. Has he met God? Has he held a conversation with him? Was he there to see Jesus performing his miracles? He can say he has and was, but sadly he has been brainwashed and blinded by a church that wants to control an uncontrollable situation with fear.
Check this:
If man is created in God's image than how is it that we would even be slightly tempted by a snake and an apple? We would merely be extensions of God, Pure and honest to the bone. The bible suggests that on God's second attempt at creating the human race failed (Eve). So one might say "that's because God gave us free will" Why would God even risk losing one of his children to the Devil? If God is so pure, he would have known that a risk like that is too dangerous.
And lastly why would a loving caring God who is the light of honesty, purity, and everything good, create a bunch of people that have to worship him in order to have everlasting life? That's not love, that's a cruel, selfish creature in demand of security through outside sources.
It's ridiculas.
If one wants to know where one came from, they should reach down, pick up a handfull of dirt, and realize that they are no different from the earth they are holding.

FOR GOD'S SAKE.
GET OVER YOURSELVES YOU MORONIC RELIGIOUS FREAKS!

I am a Christian, and We definitely do not believe that we are the only ones here!

The thing is, we are banding together to help people with a reprobate mind. God did make us different, but when you do things out of the will of God and continue doing these things, God will turn you over to a reprobate mind. So this is the role of Christians and we don't think that we are the only ones in this world!

Please go to the Chicago Sun Times website and look up Nights of Terror to see what I am talking about!!

personally I do not hate anyone.however I do disagree with your life style.there is no racism in Christian beliefs and we are totally against oppression, although Christians are and have been very oppressed throughout history.you see the new world was founded on Christian principles and now the world seems to think that we are just being pushy.we just hope that we will not have to return to the old slavery that was endured before we came to this country.

They don't think they are the only ones here, they simply demonize anyone who believes differently than they do. They have no respect for any belief other than their own and then wonder why people don't "play nice" with them.

People create their own interpretation of everything so they can create their own "outsiders". If there are "outsiders" that makes them "insiders" and that's what they want. Don't listen to haters. "Love thy neighbor", remember? It doesn't say "but not if they're gay", does it?
