The only way you can get rid of norton is to buy Your Uninstaller. This will get rid of any unwanted programmes. I had the same problem as you. I have now removed norton from my computer. The reason you are having such difficulty is because norton is programmed into the computer when you buy it. It is a pain in the backside. Good luck.

There is two way to uninstall it,
I think anyone delete the registry entry that use in add/remove program. Badly useing Regedit may responsible for this.
1. Delete The Folder In Safe Mode. (Use Unlocker If Any Problem)
2. Use CCleaner To Uninstall It.

Go to your start menu, and then click on search. The question "what do you want to search for" should pop up on the left side of the screen. Select "All files and folders" then enter the word "Norton"in the search box on the left. It should bring up all related folders and files, just go through and take them all out (i.e. delete). Hope this helps.

search for it and when it comes up delete it...if you delete all of it it will either ask you if you want to just delete the link or uninstall the program. a lot of times its called something else in the program line i had this same problem.
