we only call each other mommy (pardon, mummy) and daddy. They pick it up the same as everything else.

They learn from hearing older brothers or sisters call their parents mommy and daddy.They learn from their parents calling themselfs mommy and daddy.They learn to do it just like they learn to do everything else.
