I'm 29 yrs old and have had regular, normal periods since I was 12. But this month when I started, it was thick and brown for the first 4 days and then it changed to the normal color, but the problem is it has lasted a total of11 days so far (and still going as of now). What could this be?

If you have been bleeding for 11 days, you need to get to the doctor as soon as possible. You could be having a miscarriage, or maybe several eggs passed through this month, some other problems but you will probably need to be on some sort of prescription iron pill. You can lose too much blood quickly. Woman do not normally have a problem with their blood count from their periods but that is excessive and you should really go and see what the problem is. Chances are, you have endometriosis. It is very common, especially if you have never had any children. You will still need to get to the doctor!

Could be stress but more likely pre-menopausal that can last for several years, making your periods appear like this off and on.
Have you recently started birth control?
Google menopause and see what you come up with.
When in doubt consult your doctor.

I somewhat have had that too. My physician pronounced because it bounce forward bleeding, and pronounced that's straight forward for somebody who might merely be commencing their era or merely commencing on the start administration tablet. Tip: be careful in case you employ tampons. each and every so often you may think of you are going to have your era so which you place a tampon in, yet you merely have breakthough bleeding, the tampon is extremely painful to take out by using fact it is not saturated adequate. initiate with a pad until you're specific you are going to have a widespread cycle.

For some reason you had an excess amount of endometrial tissue from your uterus this time. It is probably nothing in itself, but with the extended menstrual flow, you need to see the doctor. This is not good for your health and you may possibly have had an abrupt natural abortion. I am NOT a doctor, but you do need to see one. Good luck!

Could also be a change in your hydration levels, stress, or any number of medical conditions. If you continue to bleed, go see your doctor so they can check you out.
