There are snake repellants that you can buy at the hardware stores or online if you are afraid of them being in your yard, but consider, if there are snakes, there is a food source and a common food source for snakes are mice and rats. I prefer to have a snake occasionally traverse my yard then the rodents.

unless you have a 14 foot Burmese python in your yard you really have nothing to worry about even if you did have a large burm you still probably would have nothing to worry about snakes feed on common rodents and won't be of any harm to yourself unless you're just scared of the sight of them then yes there's repellents and lots of other ways to kill the poor snakes :(
