I dont know Hull at all. But here is an idea for you. I live in Bristol. On 5th November we go to the highest point overlooking the city, park the car, sit in it for a couple of hours and watch all the firework displays from all over the city simultaneously. Its fantastic! And its free! Do they have a high spot somewhere outside Hull?

Theres a pub in beeford called the "Yorkshire Rose" , they're having a big one . Its not exactly what I could call "local" to you but its as you head towards Bridlington. Also theres a big fire going off at the Driffield showground ...again not really "local" , but those are the only ones i know of at the moment.
sorry if this doesnt help you.
