At this stage the baby is only about the size of a grain of rice...even if it was twins. Bloating CAN make the stomach feel hard.

It's probably not your imagination. Right? With my first baby, I couldn't zip or button my pants after the first month. And I didn't even know I was pregnant. I gained a whopping 29 lbs with him. I should have gained about 20. Oh, well! No big deal. I did however look like I was 9 months pregnant with twins by the time I was 6 months pregnant. People were always afraid I'd go into labor at any second. The movie theater didn't want to let me in because they were afraid my water would break. It's all about your body and how your body carries your baby. I've seen women (there is a special place in hell for just for them) who don't look like they are pregnant until the last month and then it looks like they swallowed a cantaloupe. I on the other hand looked bigger and bigger with my pregnancies. With my second child, I only gained 6 lbs. Once again complete strangers found it necessary to ask me if I was having twins or triplets. I was only 6 months along. My husband once had to stop me from smacking someone at a McDonald's. Make sure you have someone rub your tummy with a good lotion. Nice big round circles with just a little bit of pressure. I can definitely recommend Palmer's unscented Cocoa Butter. Do this at least once a day. It will not keep the stretch marks away, but it will feel fabulous. The further along you are the more you will appreciate this. Good luck and God Bless!

Well, I don't think it's because the baby is growing fast. My OB/GYN told me that the growth rate of babies are all the same up until the last two months, that's when they vary in size.
My guess is that you might be carrying multiples, and if that's the case you tend to show a bit earlier, because from what I understand, you'll be the size as if you were a few weeks ahead. Or you simply might have a forward tilting uterus -which isn't harmful or dangerous- and if that's the case, that would make it where your pregnancy might be showing sooner.
Also, it sounds like to me that it's your first pregnancy, and it's very common to show sooner during your first pregnancy. And at seven weeks, your baby is probably around 1/3 of an inch long, or about the size of a grain of rice. You might have gained a tiny amount of weight that a regular medical scale isn't sensitive enough to pick up on.
According to a webpage I found, at your seventh week you shouldn't be showing yet too much if you aren't carrying more than one baby, but you might be retaining water. If that's the case, you just need to cut back on your sodium intake, not your water intake. And you honestly won't gain any significant weight until you're a bit further along. I didn't really start gaining any weight until my 12 week or so.
And you know, you might just be one of those women who start looking pregnant almost the minute after they concieve. My good friend who's pregnant with her second baby was already having to wear maternity clothes in her third month, because she just started showing sooner than most.
It sounds like to me that you're doing well physically. Congrats, and if you're genuinely concerned, you can always talk to your doctor or one of their nurses, they will answer any question you have.

I had the same thing happen! My tummy started to get hard and I got this little hard lump under my belly button. I was not constipated because I was fighting diarrhea...anyway, I asked my doctor and he said that it was because I was so short waisted. The uterus had no where to go so it came out a little earlier and I would be showing more than someone who was only inches taller. I don't know how tall you are, but this could be why you are showing early too. I am 10 weeks now, 11 on Sunday and I already have to wear maternity pants because mine are too small in the waist. Good Luck and congrats on the baby!

Alot of bloating occurs interior the 1st trimester. At 7 weeks, your uterus is the dimensions of a plum, and your toddler is the dimensions of a blueberry! (attractive!) At 12 weeks your uterus pops up over the pubic bone, so because it is many times once you would be able to start to tutor. Your abdomen muscular tissues are nonetheless fantastically unfastened with the aid of fact of your modern-day being pregnant, so any bloating would have greater of a 'exhibiting' consequence.

It can always depend on everyone's body frame. If you are small framed, you may start showing quicker. Also when I was pregnant with my son, I started showing right away. With my daughter, I was 5 months pregnant before I even had to think about maternity clothes. Hope this is helpful.
