Tell her to stop then because it is hurting your feelings. If she don't want to stop, then you should stop hanging out with her. Friends should respect each other. Stick to your decision, no matter what the consequence maybe. Don't worry about her gossiping about you, the most important thing is you stick to who you are as a person. Eventually your action will speak louder than her words, if she retaliate like that.

Try spending some time apart for a bit. It's easy to get sick of someone when you are constantly hanging out with them. You don't have to drop her as a friend, just take a "break". It's good to hang out with other people. You'll have more to talk about when you do see each other.
When she hurts your feelings, let her know, be honest. If she still acts like that, tell her she's not acting much like a best friend and get away. If she truly cares about you she will smarten up, otherwise, she just doesn't care about you.

Well I have experienced this before, breaking it off all at once is not the way. That would be cause for her to spread things about you. The best thing you can do is hang out with her less and less, that way towards the end you can actually tell her how you feel. I know what you are going through and it hurts, but if you think they would spread rumors like I said you might want to break it to her slowly.

It sounds like she has some security issues herself- like putting you down, to make herself feel better. You should start hanging out with her less and less, and start to make other friends, that way she will be less likely to dis you to everyone, and by then you should have a few other friends that will be on your side- maybe towards the end you can explain to her that her sacastic remarks really hurt your feelings- or write her a long letter explaining what she means to you (or used to) and that she is hurting you.
She may be having problems about her own looks, and doesn't realize that she is hurting you like this.

Perhaps you should less 'break friends' ,more just happen to spend time with different people- getting to know them, spending time in other circles. If her jokes are hurtful, too, then perhpas don't try and react in a particular way (that is, laughing or smiling) but maybe give her an indirect cue that it's not funny.

I think that you should talk to your friend and let her know that she is hurting your feeling, Let her know that you're suppose to be her best friend and that's not the way a friend is suppose to treat a best friend. If she still teases you then let her go as a friend because she wouldn't deserve a friend like you. As for the other kids in your class don't worry about them they're probably wondering why you are still her friend. You deserve to be treated better and you want the respect that you deserve don't settle for less.Good luck and be strong and confident about your self.

She sounds like a *****. Anyone who makes you feel that way isn't your friend. Just so she isn't mean to you, try to break the friendship off a little at a time, that way she just thinks that you guys just grew apart. Like stop hanging a round her little by little, when she calls say your mom needs to use the phone, or yo u have homework. Try hanging around someone else. Hope I helped...Good luck to you!

You should have the self esteem to walk away from a person who makes you feel this way. Who cares what she says to the other girls in your class? Let her say what she wants...your above that cr*p. Seriously hon, life is to short to spend it around negative, mean, pushy, rude people.
Move on

Carefully get away from her. Don't hang out with her after school and don't talk that much to her during school. Act like you around a person you're not friends with in school. She will adapt to this and you guys will move apart. It worked for me when I found out that my ex best friend lied to me about something important.

You should talk to her woman to woman. Let her know exactly how you feel when she makes rude comments to you. Explain to her that being a FRIEND does NOT consist of making your FRIEND feel bad on a daily basis. You can make new friends, without totally dumping her as your pal.
But I definitely think you should talk to her.
