Love for anyone besides themselves, NO. They can love a wife or family for what they give them or the prestige they give them...or as possessions.

A narcissist really does not even love themselves when its technically analyzed. They are really incapable of the kind of unconditional love that exists between people. They have a lot of anxiety issues. In essence they hate themselves because they are unable to live up to their own perfectionist and indestructible view.

The main thing is that they believe themselves better than anyone else and capable of beating anyone at anything they do. Its very hard to explain in layman's terms.

I would think that a narcissist would be able to feel love for someone else though it would be difficult to say if it is the same type of love that is experienced by someone without that personality disorder. Since a true narcissist feels that others find them seriously flawed and unacceptable I'd assume that any relationship they had in which they felt they loved the other person would be somewhat unhealthy, codependent or abusive in some way.

Definitely no. A narcissist treats human beings like objecs to use and to leave according to his needs, indifferent to their feelings. The real tragedy is his incapacity to love and to feel empathy for other people.A narcissist has no respect for other people's ideas and for their feelings,is unable to recognize people's contribution in interpersonal relashionships.Of course a narcissist pretends to have feelings if he wants to make someone fall in love but as soon as he gets what he wants he shows himself because he can't help doing like that.As a consequence it is not possible to have a real and deep love relationship with a narcissist who will only use the person who ( unfortunately) falls in love with him.

I would say yes because narcissistics love themselves... so just by definition of what they are, they feel love for someone

A narcissist does expect something from others...that others will love them as much as they love themselves! To a narcissist, it's all about me, me, me, me, me.

They might have a feeling of gratefulness or even maybe respect but never love.
