I am 13 years old. Everone keeps telling me I have the facial features of a model! I took that into consideration and decided it would be fun to give it a try. My biggest concern though is that my teeth are not straight. I am getting an expander and braces on my first 4 teeth in December, and I'm getting a full set in May. Would it be hard to get modeling jobs if I have braces? And how do I start my dream career?

I want to be a runway model. And if I took pictures of me without braces and sent them into agencys and then went to an interview with braces would they get suspicious?

Nah, it shouldn't be hard getting jobs with braces. Especially since you're 13, people like models to look their age. If you're really worried, you can get invialign, sometimes it costs less than braces. First you need to find an agent, a good agent. if someone says that they need money up front......RUN RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! No one should ask you for money. Make sure your parents are with you! Good luck with your career!

This is the era of the Digital camera. Have someone take tons of head-shots and a composite of you doing all kinds of things inside and out. Don't deliberately hide the braces, but make sure you play up good features so the eye doesn't wonder to the braces. Pick out the best shots with help and make a Disk to send off.

Always take an adult with you on any auditions that might come of the Disk.

Braces make you look more like a "real person" instead of a trained model. They are a feature to you. If you are going to be a runway model than you dont have to smile. Try and get the clear braces so you can't see them. And if your teeth arn't horribly crooked you won't have to worry about having them on for a long time.

First thing you need to do is get plenty of head-shots from a good photographer. Then send your pictures to as many agencies as you can and go to open calls, you'll need to talk it over with your parents. This is not easy, you'll deal with alot of rejection.

I doubt the braces should be much of a problem, you can get the ones that aren't noticeable. Don't limit yourself to runway, you have to be a certain height and look, your still young plenty of opportunities are open for you. Just keep at it and don't give up. Don't let the rejection get to you, you are beautiful no matter what, just not right for that agency. Best luck.

What will be your "real" profession? What will you do when you're 35 years old and can't do anything useful.
