Three questions:
1) If you drop the class will you fall below the required number of credits to keep your financial aid in future years?
2) If you retake the class will they drop your C out of your GPA (some schools do it one time for each class)
3) Is there a limit on the number of withdrawals you are allowed to have?

Once you answer these questions, it will be easier to decide.

It depends how many C's you have gotten in the past... if this is your first or second (or even third), you might consider just sticking with it and getting the best grade you possibly can in the course. Its possible to get a C and still maintain a high GPA, especially with 2 years of college behind you - I finished my 2nd year with a 3.1 (which equals about a B), and I had a C or 2 in there... do the calculations on your GPA (using your projected grade in all the courses you are in now and your GPA from all your previous college courses) - If this course will knock it down quite a bit, then drop it... if it won't make a huge difference, then just stick with it.

If you were getting a D, i would say drop it, but a C ain't so bad. You already put in work for the class, paid for it, ect. Might as well at least pass it and put your attention on other classes you need to take. You should try to work your *** off in it and try to get a B or an A. Don't understand the material? Go to the library and read up on the subject! Bad at grammer? Have a tutor overlook your essays before you turn them in. I know you have more of the class to go and am sure you could bring your grade up (my college doesn't let you drop classes after the first two months).
