If you have a close male friend that you and your son trust, they could be in the exam room with him. Having another person in the room protects both your son and the doctor. It protects the patient from being molested by the doctor and it protects the doctor from being wrongly accused of improper behavior. I would never let a male doctor examine me without a female nurse in the room.

They have privacy curtains in the room for that reason, so she won't actually see anything, but pain in the genitals is serious. it could be a number of things. My sisters son had pain there and found out at 6 years old he had a hernia. Hope your son's OK.
