Well - why would that stop you from divorcing??? You're both responsible for paying this back - along with other debts you may have.

I'm not sure what you're asking. If someone wants to get a divorce they file for divorce and then they split their assets and debts and decide amongst eachother who is responsible for that debt...or they continue to each pay half the amount of the loan payment until the loan is paid in full.

The people who loaned the money don't care who or how it gets paid back they will hold the primary person responsible for it!

It will probably be split. If he cosigned and she defaulted on the payments, the loan company would go after him. Trust me, I know, this happened with my mom and sister and my moms excellent credit got dinged several times.
