I really don't understand why. He's still active, and he's still aggressive with his food (although, he's started to regurgitate some of it...) but he's blanching. I don't understand why, because we have another betta (who eats the same food and has the same living conditions) that is still as bright as ever.

Should I be worried?

ask long as his is active i wouldnt worry. but it could be the water temp, or some kind of stressor. when a betta is scared or stressed out they lose their color- hence the cold water. as for your other fish, he could be fine with the cooler temps, this one, not so much. do some trial and error with you betta, like doing a full tank clean, or put him under a lamp, or feed him some bloodworms. but its just sounds like stress, he should be ok.

I'd be sure you're keeping his water clean, him warm and not over feeding. He could be sick, suffering from ammonia/nitrate poisoning or even just bored. I'd read up on betta disease on betta talk as some like velvet are hard to spot if you don't know what to look for. Does he get time to interact with the other betta, or a mirror? Is he always in sight of the other betta? (It's generally good to insure he has a place to hide from the other betta as it can be stressful to be in aggressive mode 24/7.)

PS- If you believe him to be sick, but dion't know what. Add 1 table spoon per 2.5 gallon of pre-disolved table salt, and/or a preventive like melafix/bettafix or methyl blue.

they have special fish food that will bring out the bright colors again. Try asking for it at your local pet store.

Some fish are injected with dyes to make them brighter. If you don't see signs of Ick, he should be OK.
