In the beginning our paths are crooked with many dead ends, and this seems to complicate every issue.

Every thing comes under this answer. Simple and short, if any human need some thing to exist on the earth. It will be a complicated to get it. If you need some drinking water when you are in a sea with out a bottle of drinking water, it will make you complicated. I only can say human can have few or more complicates, but not zero.
