Cereal or other solids should not be introduced until closer to 6 mos of age. The AAP says that all she needs this early is breastmilk or formula. Her system isn't ready to digest anything else yet. Starting too early can put her at risk for allergies, diabetes or obesity.
Instead, I'd suggest having them try offering the expressed breastmilk (or formula) in a soft-spout sippy cup (Avent makes a good one) or in a straw cup (see Rubbermaid link below). They can also try offering the milk at different temperatures - cold, room temp, body temp. Reverse cycling is pretty normal for a lot of babies who have working moms.

Yes. 3 1/2 months is too early. Start feeding cereal, only a couple of tablespoons, no earlier than 4 months.

It's now recommended to wait for solids between 4-6 months, and when the child is showing signs of readiness. Can hold head up, showing interest in your food, chewing motion..etc. It's better to wait a while longer, if given too soon it increases chances of allergies and digestive issues.

nicely my son would be 7 months and all of us started giving him oatmeal cereal while he replaced into 3 weeks previous. Your son would be ok ingesting it as long as you do no longer over feed him. each and every of the cereal will do is help him stay finished longer and it would make him benefit greater weight. yet i might say shop feeding him. i might additionally say initiate giving him some point a million toddler ingredients, like vegies.

You can introduce cereal at this time, but do so one kind at a time so you can detect any allergies to it. You should start with rice, which is the least likely to cause an allergic reaction. And use breast milk to prepare it. If in any doubt, ask your Pediatrician or his/her nurse.

Our physician said to start my son on cereal at 4 months, but we started him on it at 2 months because he was a big baby when he was born and just milk wasn't satisfying enough, we haven't had any problems with it though.
