Regarding the story of those letters that were found in the ocean, some of which contained very personal information. The guy who found them plans on putting them on ebay. I personally think that is an awful thing to do. What do you think?

I totally agree with you. I read the story this morning and tried to end an e-mail to that effect but I was blocked for some reason.

It is a horrible thing for him to do. It will hurt these people more if they are aware and, who knows what the buyers will do with those letters? Perhaps a movie of someone's personal life without their knowledge or permission? Then someone may decide to end it all from pure embarrassment. I hope not!

It seems so strange to want to spread other people's pain all over the Internet. He must be some kind of weirdo. First, he says that some of the letters expressed heartfelt situations, and I thought at that point he cared, but now I am stunned.

I pray that good sense and sensitivity will prevail.

If it's true that he changed his mind about selling them on eBay, I'm glad. I do not think those letters should be part of a private collection. If not destroyed in a respectful manner, I think they should be given to a local church as they were originally addressed to a pastor in Jersey City.

I haven't heard of the story, but I would throw them back into the ocean where they belong to.

He's changed his mind. He won't be putting them on e-bay after all.
