then complain when they are shot? recently Hamas and Hizbollah hid behind women and children in residential areas during the recent conflict

Today, I heard on the news that the local radio was used to get all women and children to surround a mosque were men had hidden. Why? when they know that this wont stop israel's forces from firing? The news pictures clearly showed men hiding between the women and children. I just think thats major cowardice

If a person is taught a ''mind set'' that everyone is a combatant, and everyone is a weapon. Also, anything that person does will be forgiven.

If that person is of low intellect, and is brainwashed into righteousness.

If that person has generally had a very poor life.

If that person is being led by another who is single minded enough, and completely centred on a goal.

Then and only then will a expectantly civilised person see the reasons.

You should also know, that just scratch the surface of a civilised person, and below is very much an animal.

ur query is not wrong, nor is it biased. u just heard a piece of news.

it is now 58 years that the arab-israeli conflict has been going on. 4million palestinians were told to disappear from their homeland to make way for about 10-20,000 jews who were to be given the promised land.

after 58 years, the issues of justice for the jews, the question of promised land, the forcible land acquisition................everything has lost relevance. contemporary reality remains--2 million palestinians were killed, and 4 million displaced to create the modern state of israel. the 4 million which remain there are being systematically either wiped off from the face of the earth or pushed further into other countries. mind u the war with lebanon has eneded with the ceasefire, but the palestinian seige has been cntinuing till date.

now comes the issue of why the women and children. a visit to palestine, or even iraq, or afghanistan would tell you how ruthless the human race is. what is left in these countries is poverty, women and children. particulalrly in palestine. men beyond the age of 16 find it very difficult to reach the age of 40. no one knows when they will be picked up and where they will go. no one knows when the next ariel attacks will take place. even elected head of state can be imprisoned. the demographic imbalance is striking.

so if u see women trying to protect whatever is left behind, u shud understand how difficult it is for them to do it. it is culture that does not allow women to step outdoors. it is a patriarchal society, where women are kept behind the veil. it is the desperation of this society that is what u r seeing on tv, and listening to in the news.

and it is apathy and the cruelty of the bystanders and judgemental people like all of us here that allows such gross violation of human rights to take place. chek the amnesty, international red cross, international crisis group and the UN reports on the issue and u'd get a hang of things. chek out their websites.

I do not agree with what Hamas did,using those women as human shields...but they did come voluntarily...they were there to protect thier sons...
And the IDF is no better for starting firing at unarmed women...
But not only Hamas uses people as human shields...also the IDF uses Palestinians as human shields in different operations...

When a civilization begins to have such low regard for its offspring, then it is in serious trouble. Any religion in any civilization which has allowed and even supported ritualistic killings is an abomination. After all, who is really doing the killing if you knowingly place your family in harm's way?
It is sad to see Muslims with so little regard for life that they would seek the afterlife first and usually with someone else's life at stake. Is this not a form of paganism?

On the other hand, I wonder whether those who use abortion as a birth control device in Western civilizations are any less guilty of murdering their offspring. Perhaps it is the worship of convenience, the church of the holy dollar bill, which allows them such luxuries at the expense of other lives. This seems to me as indefensible as the former example.

I feel that we in the 'western culture' don't have a clue about the Middle East's way of thinking. We don't understand it because we wouldn't think of doing some of the things they do. It horrifies me to think they believe this is right.
It makes me think have a different mind set than we do.
It would be interesting to see the answer to your question from someone who lives in the Middle East compared to a Palestinian who lives in the UK.
