okay so my garbage disposal stopped working and i have some water in that side of the sink that wont go down the drain with old scraps of food in it..i left it alone for a few days to see if the water would go down but its not..the water has turned black and smells horrible!, ive covered it up so it doesnt stink up my house...it seems the water has mold in it now...is it dangerous for me to be around it?? is this some kind of toxic mold i should worry about?

No, it is nothing to worry about. The kind of mold people call dangerous only grows in paper products and must have a constant source of moisture to grow.

The black you see in the water is simply rotten food.

You need to get that disposal working again or replace it.
How can you stand that.

Not dangerous,just gross. Better pull the trap and clean out the drail line. :-)=

that is also a breeding ground for bugs. i would have it fixed as soon as possible.
