Can you help me learn how to copy and paste an html link to my website?

I have cut and pasted, as well as done the copying and pasting and neither work. I can't think of what else to do.

May I ask where is this HTML link that you want to copy?

And how did you do cutting or copying? Did you highlight the html link first before you hit Ctrl-X or Ctrl-C?
