Also long hot summer evenings spent playing football with my friends.

My first time at the beach--I couldn't have been more than 3 at the time, but I remember seeing a sea snake (and no, I have no clue where my parents were) in water that was about 6 inches deep, and chasing it as it swam around the shallows. Now, every time I set foot on a beach, or even catch a whiff of the ocean in the breeze, I am taken back to that day.

This is kind of sad but i remember reading 'The Secret Garden' in bed until i fell asleep with it. In the morning i was so desperate to finish reading that i pretended to be sick. I think my grandmother knew but let me have the day off school anyway. She bought me egg and soldiers in bed and i read all day under my covers. That feeling, curled up underneath the covers with my book is one of the most comforting things to remember.

holidays--very important in our family-thanksgiving--especially christmas--those were the best memories of my childhood--there are four siblings in my family--when we were little--my dad used to hang small lighted xmas trees in the doorways of our bedrooms-they would stay light till we fell asleep--at easter-we used to wake up to find baskets filled with candy and little gifts-stuffed bunnies--wonderful memories i keep to this day-especially since both my mom and dad are no longer with us.

My mom reading to me. Collectively those are my favorite memories. Lots of different books--picture books, chapter books, fairy tale collections, etc. But she was always reading me something...and it was wonderful.
