The last lot of four that I paid for was £14.99, but I was told that I could get them more cheaply on the net but I have look & can't see any.

It appears they're dirt cheap on eBay. I went to eBay UK and search for "dx3800" and it came up with the following:

There are loads of sets of 4 or 12 cartridges for about £5, so I think that's the sort of thing you're after. Double check all the details first of course, and don't be afraid to ask the seller any questions. You don't need to be in a rush to buy them - there's SO many on there ending all the time.
