i am a teen and i recently just read a question on yahoo saying 'how do we make teens more responsible?' i was surprised at how many adults were saying that all teens were criminals. i am not, in fact i get straiight a's in school and have my own job. i was disgusted and felt like swearing and giving abuse. the fact is everyone fights against authority. if someone was telling you to go to bed and to do the dishes i am sure you would say 'i am my own person, you have no rite to tell me wot to do!' i do, i say it in my head, not to my parents because i respect them and they respect me, so everytime i do something which is responsible, i get treated in a more mature way. i bet tha not all adults stick to the speed limit even if you are just over by 5 m.p.h. the only thing is, not just teenagers fight against authority

I don"t think "All" teenagers fight against authority.
It is a fact that as youngsters develope they get to a stage where they start to question other peoples opinions [quite rightly as well]
What the majority of adults forget is that they were teenagers once, and what teenagers forget is that they will be adults in the future, and will face even more problems if society continues as it is.
I my opinion the problem is the "total lack of respect" by the minority of teenagers for any kind of authority.
When the do gooders banned almost all forms of dicipline in schools this led to the minority of unruly pupils taking advantage.
These pupils are now parents and the lack of dicipline and disrepect of authority has been passed down to their children.
These are the ones who now have ASBO"s and wear them like a badge.
The leniency of the judicial system just makes things worse, and the Government just doesn"t have a clue how to solve the problem and appease the human rights lobby.
I do feel sorry for the majority of youngsters these days, they have to get a degree to get even the most mundane job.
They have very little chance of getting into the housing market.
Wages are going to be held down by all the incoming foreign workers, making it even harder to get on.
Some teenagers are a real pain in the bum, but this, as I have said, is a minority.
PS I was a teenager in the 60"s

Testosterone- a human hormone that is secreted by the brain at the time of puberty!
It will make you feel competitive, always needing to be right, to be first and to socialize with only the people that you feel is important or right!
Your upbringing and environment does have something, to do with how obvious you show your feelings, to any authority figure!
Go figure!

there are a hell of a lot of good kids out there but only the yobs get a mention for their yobbish attitude so come on media we dont want to hear about them only the good kids that have been brought up by responsible parents and they in return are rewarded by their sons and daughters growing up and achieving something in life and contributing to society
