Adultrey in US v. rest of world?

Question

It seems to me that when married people in the US have affairs they are very harshly jugded, but in some countries in Europe and in the rest of world, while not encouraged, seems to be accepted as a natural part of life. Why is this?

The US is also more religious and therefore, more intolerant of immoral behavior. The US also gets lower test scores.
