The 2 films that are universally agreed to be the best are: Singin' in the Rain(1952) with Gene Kelly (+) The Band Wagon(1953) with Fred Astaire. As someone else pointed out, West Side Story is an excellent choice as well!

Strictly Ballroom, or Save the Last Dance. Aslo like the one with Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Jennifer Lopez, but can't remeber what it's called, sorry!

Any Fred Astaire film to watch but the winner has to be Dirty Dancing because it makes you believe you could do it too

Dirty dancing is the classic chick flick dance movie, but save the last dance is a good one if you want something more modern.
definitely go with dirty dancing if she grew up with it-it's so cheesy but you gotta love it if it's part of your childhood!

It's got to be Dirty Dancing, with those moves that Patrick Swayze made in that film , it couldn't be anything else !
