I've breastfed my 5 month old daughter exlucsively and never had problems before, but now it seems my milk won't letdown and she gets frustrated. I'm slightly more stressed than usual, but always make sure I'm fully relaxed before nursing. There's next to no chance for pregnancy as I'm on BC, but when I was reading the directions it only has a 60-80% effectiveness which makes me nervous but I don't really have any other choice then the estrogen only pill because I'm nursing. I've tried getting her to take a bottle but she absolutly refuses, trust me I've tried everything. I even left her at my mom's for 6 hours because everyone seemed confident if she was hungry enough she'd take a bottle but she just screamed the whole time. Will this problem resolve itself? What are the causes? Should I fork out the money and get a pregnancy test just in case?
Thanks in advance.

If you are on an estrogen only pill then you are on the wrong pill!
You should be on a PROGESTIN only pill! (See link.)
If your pill contains estrogen, that could be what is causing your problems.

Nurse more often and that can help boost your supply.

Do guided relaxation to help get your letdown to come sooner. Think of water flowing from the faucet, running river, waterfall, etc. Imagine the feeling of warmth and heaviness as your breasts fill up with milk. I had to do this with my middle child who had a fussy period in the evenings and it helped.

And taking a PG test can't hurt if you think there is any possibility.

do no longer provide her the bottle in any respect. whilst she is hungry adequate, she will consume from you. You replied your very own question unquestionably. you're AFRAID you will by no potential be waiting to. relax! in case you're traumatic, you're able to have a topic with letdown. Are you making use of a instruction manual or electric powered pump? I had an electric powered one, and went lower back to an avent instruction manual. Pumps way swifter, and letdown occurs way swifter. wish this helps!

Take a test if your think you may be. Try a warm compress before each feed and the relaxation techniques the first poster said.
You need to be relaxed, as stress may be the cause.
