One elderly man mentioned on Question Time that he hadn't dealt with the issue of Pensions which is very important.

1. I think that maybe a Priminister is the person in charge of Primark.

2. Having pointed out your embarrassing spelling mistake, I will attempt to answer your question. I am not convinced that Gordon Brown will make a good Prime Minister. The main reason is that his dour personality is unlikely to succeed in motivating either the Cabinet or the country. He needs to lead a successful team, and I find him uninspiring.

3. As a seasoned Chancellor of the Exchequer, I think he is better placed than most to address the pensions crisis. However pensions are not the major issue. These are the major problems:
(a) Education
(i) poor standards of English;
(ii) teachers with excessive (non-productive) monitoring work;
(iii) indiscipline in classrooms;
(iv) student debt;
(b) Health
(i) excessive (non-productive) administration;
(ii) spending on PFI contracts going beyond budget;
(iii) lack of NHS dentists;
(c) Defence
(i) too much subservience to USA;
(ii) poorly equipped troops;
(iii) excessive cost of defending distant territories e.g. Falklands;
(d) Foreign policy
(i) antagonism resulting from policy towards Middle East;
(ii) need for rebranding as European nation;
(iii) more help to developing countries / writing off debt;
(e) Home policy
(i) polarisation of communities along religious / ethnic lines;
(ii) adequacy of major incident preparations;
(iii) overcrowding in prisons;
(f) Energy policy
(i) decommissioning of ageing atomic power stations;
(ii) reliance on foreign energy sources;
(iii) suitability/capacity of green alternatives.
Where does Gordon Brown stand on all this? I have no idea. However with the control-freakery of the present incumbent, it is unlikely that we will ever know what Brown's views are until he is Prime Minister (if that ever happens).
